I was born and have lived in Kingsand all my life but have travelled extensively in Europe for both work and leisure. I attended Fourlanesend, Torpoint and Saltash Schools. I was a fisherman for thirty-five years and served on fisheries committees both locally and nationally. I then trained as a chef and worked my way up to Head Chef in a top Looe hotel. I followed that with an eleven-year career in the Fishermen's Mission serving in welfare work in the fields of both physical and mental health. During this time, I also served on the committee which raised a memorial on the Hoe to the Merchant Navy and the Fishing Industry.
I am passionate about our community and area and would not want to see it become like Padstow, Rock or Fowey. Affordable homes for local people should be our priority before second homes or holiday lets.
I am not affiliated to any political party or organisation but am a proud member of the Congregational Church. I am my own person and can be seen most days walking in the area. I am proud to have served three times now on Maker with Rame Parish Council; we represent a community made up of people of diverse backgrounds, experience and outlook - and I hope my lifelong knowledge of the area will continue to be of benefit to them.
